This Privacy Policy describes how Potranco Eye Care PLLC, operating the offices Elite Vision, Potranco Eye Care, and 211 Eye Care in San Antonio, Texas, collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our patient text messaging program.

What we collect

Patients join our texting program by signing our written texting consent form at one of our offices, typically at their annual checkup. When a patient signs up, we collect the patient's name, the mobile phone number the patient provides, and appointment details (such as appointment dates and times and which office the appointment is with). When a patient places an eyewear order, we also collect information about the order itself, such as the eyewear ordered and its status. This information is kept in our internal patient and order-tracking systems and is used only for the texting program described here.

How we use it

We use the mobile number solely to send text messages connected with the patient's care at our offices: appointment reminders before scheduled visits, recall notices when it is time to schedule the next eye exam, a short survey after a visit, eyewear order notices (for example, that lenses have arrived, that a frame is needed to finish the glasses, that glasses or contact lenses are ready for pickup, or that trial contact lenses have arrived), and two-way messages between the patient and office staff. Pickup-ready messages may also invite the patient to leave a Google review. All texts are sent from our texting number, (210) 972-0316. That number is for texting only; patients are directed to call their office with anything they would rather discuss by phone.

Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Mobile information and messaging consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in information, phone numbers, and consent records collected for our texting program are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile numbers and opt-in information are used only to deliver the messages described above and are never shared or sold. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Patients can reply STOP at any time to opt out of further texts, and HELP for help; opt-outs are honored automatically. Opting out of text messages does not affect the care a patient receives from our offices in any way.
